Sun Residence is a single-family house located in the suburb of Chengdu. With the surrounding residential buildings overlooking the site and the client’s demand for common space for family gatherings, the design aims at inserting a structure with a screen system that offers both privacy and inner gathering space.

All the amenity spaces are integrated into the three structural massings, leaving the rest of the space a totally open plan. A continuous slab offsets the structural perimeter, which connects each room with a luxurious balcony space. The facade installs a well-detailed screen system that can be folded or opened at different times of the day as the client needs.
